1976 Honda CB500T

This was the bike my father bought when I was roughly 10 years old. We used to go riding frequently just for the sake of getting out on the road. It had all the charm of those 70's Hondas with the comfortable riding position, chrome fenders, and flat as a pancake seat. While 500cc was a good sized bike back then, the 2 cylinder version lacked the power of it's 4 cylinder stablemates. It was slow to accelerate and I don't think I ever got it to go any faster than 65mph. These features actually made it a good learning bike and I was able to pass my riding test quite easily on the first try. (I witnessed many on big cruisers or little scooters fail the tight corners of the test.) Eventually, while my uncle owned the bike, a piece of the carburetor broke off, and got sucked into the engine. I got the bike back from my uncle and found a replacement engine on eBay for $50. My friend Scott helped me do the engine swap and the bike was up and running again. By then, I already had my CB650, so I gave the bike back to my uncle. He rode it for a while and eventually sold it. Sadly, I don't have any pictures of the actual bike but there were many on Google Image Search. We even had the sparkly red 3/4 helmet...
